We learned on Monday that running back Josh Adams had labrum surgery this offseason and is now the second rusher sidelined early in the offseason, the first being Corey Clement who suffered a season-ending knee injury in early-December.
The running back spoke with Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan on Monday evening and talked a bit about the injury itself and his expected return.
He then joked that he felt like if the Eagles needed him in that New Orleans game at the end, he could’ve hopped back out there. Clement did then talk a bit about the timetable for his return and what he plans on doing this offseason from a workout standpoint.
Caplan then said he noticed that Clement’s weight was down from last season, and the running back acknowledged that he’s down to 208 pounds right now — after playing at 227 in college and 217 last season — which is where he feels comfortable. He said you can expect that to mean he’ll be more explosive and elusive this upcoming season.Clement also said during the interview that it was really cool to have Vinny Curry back in the building, and to get a chance to play alongside DeSean Jackson this season.
He also said he was excited to have Jordan Howard join the team, calling him a great asset and person, and wasn’t worried about what that meant for him role with the offense. Clement said he’s very familiar with Howard having studied him a lot during college, with both players coming from the Big Ten, Wisconsin and Indiana, respectively.
